Meet Karl Barry

Karl is a fully qualified and accredited psychotherapist with the IACP, with nearly two decades of study and practice in psychology and psychotherapy. He holds an Honours BA in Psychology and an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy, where he graduated top of his class. Karl is currently undertaking fully funded PhD research at Dublin City University, exploring how new technologies can support reflective practice in psychotherapy.  

This strong academic foundation supports his passion for working with people at a deep level. He specialises in longer-term, in-depth therapy with adults and couples, helping clients explore not just their difficulties, but also the meaning behind them.

Alongside individual therapy, Karl specialises in couples therapy, helping partners improve communication, deepen emotional connection, and navigate complex dynamics. He also brings expertise in sports psychotherapy, supporting athletes with performance, identity, and transition challenge, and psychosexual therapy, creating a safe and open space to address intimacy and sexual concerns.  

He offers sessions face-to-face in Clane, Co. Kildare, as well as online and through walk-and-talk therapy. These different formats allow clients to choose the setting that feels most comfortable and supportive.  

Clients often describe Karl as warm, thoughtful, and deeply attentive. His role is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can bring your full self and feel truly heard. Together, you work to make sense of your experiences, uncover patterns that may be holding you back, and open up new possibilities toward greater self-understanding, healing, and choice in life.
